Jurassic Attack

Driver: Kristy Edge
History: Ever since I was a little girl I wanted to be a monster truck driver! I went to a lot of shows in Vancouver as a little girl with my family. And as I grew older I was determined to become a driver! Everyone always told me to grow up get a real job/education. I would always be soo mad at them because I was serious—this is what I want to do. A few of my teachers always put my dream down, saying that there is no such thing as a female monster truck driver! I was so determined to prove them wrong!
I drove Firestorm the monster ride truck for a year and a half for Paul Mayfield. Driving the ride truck I traveled a lot and met new people. That’s how I met Don Frankish. He let me take his truck out for a round of freestyling in Lethbridge, Alberta in July 2006. It was an adrenaline rush I went out into that bull ring and at first I just drove over the cars to get use to the steering and the horse power. Feb 2007 Don Frankish had a show in Saskatoon. Don let me race and I made it to the finals. I was up against Nathan Weenk. As soon as we lined up and that green flag dropped I threw it into 2nd gear and went for it! I lost by a hair. I’m not afraid to get greasy. I’ll do anything. So here I am today 2 months into the life of monster trucks and I’m just getting started and cant wait!

Driver: Rick Swanson
Owners: Rick and Jill Swanson
Residence: Menifee, CA
Years in Business: 9 years
Date of Birth: 7/24/67
Marital Status: Married
Children: Eric
Hobbies: Dirt bike riding
Personal Profile: From the beginning Rick has always liked to put on a show. Rick and his friends built a track and jumps at the local baseball park. He loved bike riding and water skiing and he started to play football when he entered high school. He met his wife Jill his junior year of high school. He purchased an old 1970 Bronco and pleaded with his Dad to have a 3-inch lift put on it. His Dad said it was WAY to unsafe. Finally his Dad gave in and said it would be all right. Rick just kept lifting it higher and higher from then on. Rick and Jill got married in 1988. They drove from the wedding to the reception in the back of the bronco, since he had an OBSESSION for trucks. He displayed it at car shows and was featured on covers of magazines and in calendars. He won dozens of trophies with it. One day he decided he couldn’t go any further with this truck. He had some sponsors for the bronco and decided he needed to go bigger. His first race was at the LA Coliseum and he will make sure that his OBSESSION will never be passed up.
