Double Trouble

Driver(s): Travis and Tyler Groth
Born: 1983
Sponsored by:

Travis and Tyler Groth were born with fuel running through their veins. The twins were raised changing oil and spark plugs in their dad’s pickup. Before they were old enough to drive, the twins took up a competitive spirit, racing RC cars and anything else they could get their hands on. The twin’s first vehicle was a 1977 CJ-7 which they stretched into a 4-door. After honing their skills on the CJ and a succession of other jeeps, the boys attended WYOTECH in Laramie, Wyoming . They studied diesel technology and specialized in Street Rod, Chassis Fabrication and High Performance Engine.

The Twins caught Monster Truck fever after they met Ranger Joe Cypher at one of their hometown shows in September 2009 and would spend the next year following Airborne Ranger to shows all over the west coast. They spent the first quarter of 2011 crewing for Jeff Bainter’s Captain USA while finishing their truck. The twins are now racing monster trucks full time and living their childhood dream.

They founded Mirror Image Racing and purchased their first truck in 2010. “Double Trouble” is a 2003 Chevy Silverado running a 1300 horsepower 540CI engine pushing 66 inch Goodyear Tires. Racing up and down the West Coast, the boys are quickly gaining traction on the circuit. The best part of the job, the boys say, is getting to meet all the fans who are crazy about monster truck racing and freestyle. They look forward to getting to see all their fans this year at track.
